Canberra T.17 Close Up

HyperScale is proudly supported by Squadron
Chris Hughes has sent in reference photos
of four Canberra T.17s. These will be very helpful for anyone building
the Classic Airframes kit.
EG (WH646)
All of the shots of EG (WH646) were taken at the Midland Air Museum,
Coventry:

Of note is that she served with the RNZAF in Malaya during the
Emergency.
There are a number of cockpit shots, giving some good idea of the
colours (mostly black!) and the fact that there are 3 seats! Also,
you'll note that there's a bulkhead between the nose and the cockpit.

EL (WF916)
These are photos of "EL" (WF916) taken at various
places, but most of the shots were taken at RAF Wyton just before the
Sqn got rid of the Canberras.
Worth noting are the two different "tip tanks". One is
obviously a fuel tank, as the fuel filler cap and its black surround are
very obvious. If you look carefully though, you'll note that there is
another type of "tank", which has a "flat" on the outer surface and no
filler cap. I think that this may have been an antenna of some form.
The photo showing the vortex generators shows the inside face of the
Stbd fuel tank, looking forward towards the leading edge.

EM (WD955) and EJ (WF890?)
Here are a couple of shots of "EM" (WD955) and "EJ"
(WF890?).
The former now resides at a Museum in Bodo, Norway (the
RAF gave away their oldest serving Canberra - but at least the
Norwegians are looking after her!) and the latter was taken at RAF
Wildenrath in 1990.
