Description

The CODs are from Det 2, or as they have it written “Det II”.

I always enjoy seeing these things when we go aboard as they are still in the old gloss gull grey and white scheme with full-colour markings. The Det II guys seem to be proud of their mounts as they are always maintained in tip top condition and gleam in the sunlight.

Seeing them decorated with shark mouths was certainly unusual! They also bore the motif “Connie Airlines” in red, white and blue block lettering – again, very unusual.

Other than that, their markings were normal. They both bore the VRC-30 blue and yellow squadron insignia of a winged horse on both sides of the fuselage as well as the Det II zap on the left hand fuselage.

These things really are workhorses as they carry everything from mail and passengers to aircraft parts to and from the ship.
