Description

Here are some pictures of my visit to Eggebeck Naval Air Station in Northern Germany, close to the Danish border.

Marinefliegergeschwader 2 celebrated their 45th anniversary with an Open Day.

A lot of international guests were announced and I came there especially for the Ukrainian Su-27, Polish Su-22, Australian F-111C, US F-14, F-15, F-18, F-117, B-52. Unfortunately, none of these showed up , but it was still an impressive Air Show by German Tornados, a British Hawk, 2 British Sea Lynx Helicopters, an Austrian Saab Draken, a Dutch F-16,a German F-4F and a British Jaguar, not to forget the static displays.

A practice attack by eight Marineflieger-Tornados on the own base was very interesting, including recce, SEAD, and level bomb runs. All in preparation for a rescue operation that included Sea Lynx, SeaKing and a C-160 Transall.

All in all, a nice day under grey skies - no rain fortunately.
Here are some pictures of the day
