Description

In the early 1970s, Aeroflot and Japan Air Lines created an interchange agreement allowing direct airline service between Tokyo and Moscow. Aeroflot contributed one of its then-new Il-62s (NATO code name Classic) to this venture.

Shown in Aeroflot's stylish (at least in Soviet terms) early livery for the type, and carrying the JAL crane logo and titles, SSSR-86682 was one of the first Il-62 deliveries.
