Here are some reference photos of BAe Nimrods.
The first two are of a 51 Sqn R1 taken in 2005 at RAF Waddington
The next lot are an MR2 taken at the same place at the 2003 Air Show and the final set will be of another MR2, but in 51 Sqn markings.
Apparently, the R1's are in such a state due to overuse that they are now seconding MR2 airframes with "special fit" components to 51 Sqn.
It is worth noting that the MR2 XV255 does not have the Leigh Light searchlight, but appears to be fitted with possible sensors (IR?) and is carrying the BOZ flare pods, possibly indicating that it was being used over land for surveillance flights and the unusual "fit" was for protection against IR SAMs.
XV246 is the one with the 51 Sqn "Goose" on the tail, although this one has the searchlight!
