Description

On pulling into the car park at Sedona Airport I was delighted to see an immaculate T-6 Texan parked on the apron.

The airport staff were kind enough to escort me through the security gate to photograph this attractive specimen.

This was one of the cleanest warbirds that I have ever seen. You could have eaten your dinner off the inside of the engine cowling, and the spinner was buffed to a mirror-like sheen.

Next morning, when I arrived for my Grand Canyon flight, the T-6 was gone.

I would have loved to see this yellow bird taking off against the spectacular backdrop of Sedona!
