HyperScale received a total of 595 responses to its
"Wish List" survey. There were a number of duplicate and anonymous
submissions. After these were eliminated there were a total of 508 valid
responses. Not all respondents answered all the questions. This
reflected the specific interests of the respondents. The number of responses to
each category are listed in the results below. Models with substantially similar tooling were allocated to
an aircraft “family” for the purpose of the survey. For example, responses
nominating Tamiya’s 1/32 scale F-4C/D, F-4E and F-4J models were aggregated as
“F-4”. There was a wide variety of spelling and description of
aircraft types. Regardless of spelling or terminology, all responses were
allocated to the most likely aircraft type or family. For example,
“Avenger”, “TBM”, “TBF” and “TBF-1C” were all allocated to
“Avenger”. Similarly, the spelling and description of manufacturers
names varied widely. For example, responses labelled “Revell”, “R-M”,
“Revellogram”, “ProModeler” and “Monogram” were all aggregated under
the single category of “Revell”.
1/72 Scale Kits A total of 655 votes were received in this category.
Each respondent was allowed up to five votes. The Top Ten Most Wanted 1/72 Scale
Kits as requested by HyperScale's respondents (including a four-way tie for
number 10) are as follows:
1/48 Scale Kits A remarkable total of 1,919 votes were received in this category.

Honourable mentions to Savoia Marchetti S.79, F-104, Bristol Beaufort, Bell P-39 Airacobra, F9F Panther/Cougar, F-100 and Lockheed Hudson, all of which received between 15 and 20 votes. The Mirage III, Fairey Firefly, Handley Page Halifax, Mig 23, Boeing B-17, Nakajima J1N Gekko, F3H Demon, Fairey Battle, Handley Page Hampden, Henschel Hs 129 and Petlyakov Pe-2 all received between 10 and 15 votes each.
